A great success for LED Linear™ at the German Design Award 2017

The results of the German Design Award 2017 are there and LED Linear™ is even three times among the winners – with Firedance, HYDRALUX™ and XOOMINAIRE™ 4292. A great success as the German Design Award, initiated in 2012, is one of the most recognized design competitions in the world and enjoys a high reputation far beyond the specialist circles. Its goal: to discover, present and award unique design trends.

Ahead, four products were nominated for the German Design Award in May 2016. Even the nomination for this award is an honor, since the competition places the highest demands on the determination of its award winners. The nomination procedure is to invite only those products and communication designs that are proven to stand out due to their design quality.

Now the announcement of the results followed and three products were awarded. Firedance, HYDRALUX™ and XOOMINAIRE™ 4292 are allowed to wear the prestigious label "German Design Award 2017 – Special Mention". The Special Mention award honors work whose design has particularly successful aspects or solutions – an award that appreciates the commitment of companies and designers.

Since its premiere in 2012, the German Design Award has grown rapidly: At the time, approximately 1,500 entries were presented to the jury. This year there were more than 4,000 entries, 49% of them in the area Excellent Product Design and 38% in the area Excellent Communications Design. Also the award is very international as 758 entries come from abroad. The jury of the German Design Award 2017 is made up of design experts from various disciplines. They come from the world of business, education and science as well as the design industry and are recognized leading authorities in their respective fields.
